Rosedale Boots & Shoe Repair is a shoe repair shop in Bakersfield, California, that also sells the kind of boots worth repairing.
The bench came first. Repairing footwear for a living teaches you very quickly which boots come apart cleanly and go back together, and which ones are finished the first time a sole wears through. That is the standard we buy to.

Our hours are Mon–Fri 8 AM–6 PM · Sat 8 AM–4 PM · Sun Closed, Pacific Time. If you are local, bring the boots in — fit is easier to solve across a counter than over email, and we would rather measure your foot than guess at it.
What we sell
Men's leather boots and shoes, all of them Goodyear welted.
That construction is the whole selection criterion. A Goodyear welt joins the upper to the sole through a strip of leather rather than glue, which means the sole can be cut off and a new one stitched on without disturbing the boot above it. Everything we stock is built that way: vegetable-tanned insole, welt and midsole, cork filler over a steel shank, full-grain leather heel counters.
The leathers come from tanneries that put their names on them — Horween in Chicago, Charles F. Stead in England, Badalassi Carlo in Italy, Seidel, Gallun, Maryam. Patterns run plain toe, cap toe, hand-sewn moc toe, chukka and chelsea, on outsoles from lug rubber to leather to a Vibram Christy wedge.
How orders work
We process orders in 1–2 business days, with a 12 PM Pacific cutoff, and carriers take 4–8 business days from there.
Standard shipping is $7.99 and is free on orders over $70. Express is $18.00. Returns run 30 days from delivery; you pay return shipping unless the error was ours, and there is no restocking fee. If something goes wrong, email support@rosedaleboots.com and we will come back to you within 3 business days.
