Description
A moc toe boot in black Chromexcel, hand-sewn onto a one-piece vamp — the stitching is doing structural work, not decorating the toe.
It is built on the Floyd last, which keeps the locked-in heel control of the range but raises the toe box walls to give the forefoot room. The upper is Chromexcel tanned by Horween in Chicago, a resilient leather full of character; its hot-stuffed tannage leaves oils and waxes in the hide, producing the pull-up effect and supple feel. Goodyear-welt construction, a 360º split-reverse welt, full-grain kip leather lining, antique brass eyelets and speed hooks, vegetable-tanned leather at the insole, welt and midsole, cork filler over a steel shank and full-grain leather heel counters. The lug outsole is designed for harsher conditions: taller lugs on a medium-density compound, for traction and durability together.
Black, hand-sewn and lug-soled is about as much boot as a moc toe can be. Wear it where the ground is bad.
