Cognac Ecbatana Lux Dress Boot
Description
A dress boot in a leather that was finished by hand — twice — and will not be the same on any two pairs.
Ecbatana Lux from Badalassi Carlo uses the same raw material and vegetable tannage as their classic Minerva article. After tanning, distinctive markings are hand-tooled into it by two leather finishers, colour is then applied by hand, producing an intense contrast picked out by the dark marks in the hide. In person it is striking, and the vegetable tannage means it is guaranteed to age well. Because it is handworked, variation from hide to hide is significant, making the footwear genuinely one of a kind. The boot has larger quarters, smaller hardware and an extra eyelet, for a dressier feel. Goodyear welted on the Leo last with a 360º split-reverse welt, full-grain leather kip lining, polished brass eyelets and speed hooks, vegetable-tanned insole, welt and midsole, cork filler over a steel shank, full-grain leather heel counters and a double-bend leather outsole.
This is the least practical and most interesting boot here. Keep it off wet ground.
