Storm Grey Waxed Kudu Boot
Description
Light grey was chosen for this Kudu boot specifically to show the natural scars in the hide rather than hide them.
Kudu is wild antelope leather from Charles F. Stead, waxed, and it is full of character: a soft touch with a heavier weight behind it, which is a good combination in a boot. Variation is expected — this is the antithesis of a cookie-cutter article, and the scarring is part of what you are buying. It is Goodyear welted on the Leo last with a 360º split-reverse welt and a full-grain leather kip lining. The hardware is gunmetal rather than brass, which keeps the grey tone consistent from eyelet to sole. Vegetable-tanned leather forms the insole, welt and midsole, cork filler sits over a steel shank, full-grain leather heel counters hold the back, and the outsole is leather.
A leather outsole and a pale hide make this the least rugged boot of the group and the most distinctive. Wear it where it will be seen rather than where it will be soaked.
