The hot-stuffed tannage carries oils and waxes through the hide, so the leather feels supple immediately and pulls up lighter wherever it creases. A full-grain kip leather lining sits inside. The frame is vegetable-tanned leather at the insole, welt and midsole, with cork filler over a steel shank and full-grain leather heel counters. Goodyear-welt construction on the Leo last closes it, with a 360º split-reverse welt and antique brass eyelets and speed hooks. The micro stud rubber outsole is a medium-density compound, built for all seasons.
In black it will go almost anywhere a work boot is welcome and a few places it is not. Cuff the trouser or let it break over the shaft, keep the rest plain, and let the boot be the heaviest thing you have on.
