Bourbon Repello Suede Plain Toe Boot
Description
Bourbon suede on the plain toe pattern — the same boot as the smooth-leather versions, with all of the surface interest moved to the nap.
The suede is Repello calf from Charles F. Stead. Uppers, lining and insole are leather and nothing else. Full-grain kip leather lines the boot, and it is Goodyear welted on the Leo last with a 360º split-reverse welt, antique brass eyelets and speed hooks, vegetable-tanned leather at the insole, welt and midsole, cork filler over a steel shank and full-grain leather heel counters. Underneath runs a micro stud rubber outsole: a medium-density compound built to handle all seasons and to combine traction with durability.
Suede reads softer than smooth leather at the same weight, which makes this the easier one to wear informally. Bourbon is warm without being loud. Keep the rest quiet and let the nap catch the light.
