Sand Suede Unlined Chukka Boot
Description
A chukka cut from a single piece of supple suede, with nothing inside it — no lining, no structure, nothing between the leather and your foot.
That minimalist construction is the whole design. It makes the boot exceptionally lightweight and breathable, and it lets the suede mould to the foot for a fit that improves with every wear. The suede is Janus Butt from Charles F. Stead. The butyl leather outsole is oil-dipped for flexibility, which keeps the boot easy-wearing rather than stiff. It is Goodyear welted on the Leo last with a 360º split-reverse welt, blind eyelets rather than visible hardware, vegetable-tanned leather at the insole, welt and outsole, and cork filler over a steel shank.
Sand is the lightest colourway here and the most summer-facing. With jeans or chinos it works as a foundation rather than a statement, which is what a chukka is for.
